Dance Show. Directed by Andrew Hall.
Destinations, for me, encompasses a multitude of locations, atmospheres, cultures, societies, artistic expressions, and modes of arrival. What lingered with me most was a groundless, weightless sense of existing in a state of waiting—waiting to locate a final “destination.” Where would we end up?

Venue: The Paul McCartney Auditorium, Liverpool

Preliminary Sketches

I aspired to create a set design where all styles of dance could feel at “home”—a space they could fully own as their destination—free from the conflict of harsh exterior walls that might confine or restrict them. Eleven choreographers’ unique interpretations shaped a collaborative, immersive performance. To embody this ethereal environment, I turned to fabrication. The lightweight, translucent quality of muslin fabric allowed each dance piece the space to breathe, supporting the ephemeral nature of movement and meaning.

Realised Performance

1:25 Set Model
The addition of building an insland in the stalls amplified the sense of depth and illusion across both stages, intensifying the intimacy between dancer and audience—an encounter that felt both immediate and transcendent.
